The Secret To Success

The Secret To Success

Before getting into our teaching process at The Learning Tent (TLT), it is critical to realise the importance of English as a subject at the ICSE and ISC Boards:

(i) One has to compulsorily pass in English in order to pass the Boards (unlike all other subjects).

(ii) Being a mandatory subject with two full exams (Language and Literature), acing English is essential in acing the Boards.
(iii) Good command over English equips a student to express themselves well in other subjects as well.

Coming to the secret recipe for success, here are a few steps to follow in order to support learning for the Boards while inside The Learning Tent:

Step 1: Understand the matter
Step 2: Write and remember
Step 3: Practice Q&As
Step 4: Assess to check progress

Do note: the TLT recipe does not work without a bucketful of effort put in by the students!

Bhavana Miss expects a certain discipline from students. Students have to be regular in classes and come prepared with all the home assignments. No printed notes are given, so students understand the matter and write the notes that are dictated in class. In addition to small class tests, there are regular small portion tests to assess preparedness for school and board exams. Extensive preparation is done using past Board papers.

Every class has equal emphasis on language and literature so that nothing gets neglected and learning is complete.

A special feature of the TLT assessment process is the Test Series. So that the students are fully geared, we have introduced a series of test papers, three each in Language and Literature, conducted before the final board exams for the ICSE and ISC students. These test series prepare the students through simulations of the Board exam, and are guess papers for their Boards. Post the Test Series, the students get individual feedback on particular improvement areas. The Test Series are also open to non-tuition enrolled students at a cost.
